Buffalo Soldiers
Buffalo Soldiers
Buffalo Soldiers were members of the 10th Calvary Regiment of the US Army formed on September 21, 1866 at Ft. Leavenworth, K.S. This nickname was given to the colored cavalry by Native American tribes who fought in the Indian Wars. They mainly served on the western frontier. Buffalo soldiers were among the first Rangers in what became the National Park Service.
